Where: Brat Haus, 3622 N. Scottsdale Rd. Scottsdale
Brat Haus will stay true to the Munich Oktoberfest, with kick-off exactly at noon on the 22nd. Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane will be tapping the first keg and the first 100 beers from the keg are on the Haus. Two beers will be featured during the 16-day festival, Krombacher and San Tan Oktoberfest. Each will be $4. There will be giveaways all during Oktoberfest, including t-shirts, glassware, gift cards, and more. Authentic German specialties like Wiener Schnitzel, Kasseler Rippchen (smoked, brined pork chops), Spatzle and Sauerbraten will be featured at Brat Haus during Oktoberfest. The restaurant will also be serving up their signature bratwurst and pretzels throughout the festival.
Each Saturday and Sunday evening throughout Oktoberfest, Brat Haus will play host to Arizona’s best German musical ensemble. Renowned local musician Jack Dermody and his crew will bring together the big brass sounds of Bavarian folk music featuring top tuba and accordion players featured in the Phoenix Sympony.
Oktoberfest, the world’s largest beer festival, is held annually in Munich, Germany. The 16-day party attracts over 6 million people every year who consume 1.5 million gallons of beer, 200,000 pairs of pork sausage, and 480,000 spit-roasted chickens during the two-week extravaganza.
